J. Crew Collaborates with Alighieri on Maritime-Inspired Jewelry Collection

by Henry

J. Crew has teamed up with Alighieri, the London-based jewelry brand named after the renowned 14th-century writer, Dante Alighieri, to launch a limited-edition collection celebrating maritime themes. Founded by Rosh Mahtani in 2014, Alighieri has quickly gained recognition, earning praise from publications like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Marie Claire, along with a large Instagram following.

The collaboration with J. Crew marks a significant milestone for Alighieri, combining unisex jewelry, accessories, and apparel in a multi-faceted capsule collection. Among the highlights are 24K gold-plated bronze medallions and pieces adorned with Alighieri’s signature fish motif, which are hand-carved by Mahtani and crafted in London’s historic Hatton Garden using the ancient lost-wax casting method. This technique creates intentionally imperfect designs that evoke the feeling of buried treasure.

In addition to jewelry, the collection features golden buttons on J. Crew’s signature flowy white summer shirts, and various pendants and earrings, also cast in 24K gold-plated bronze, complete the maritime-inspired assortment.
