Tiffany & Co. has once again taken inspiration from the ocean for its 2025 Blue Book high jewelry collection. Titled Sea of Wonder, the new collection features intricate designs inspired by marine life, including seahorses, starfish, coral, and crashing waves.
This theme follows the house’s 2023 Out of the Blue collection, which also drew from the depths of the sea. As with recent collections since Tiffany’s acquisition by LVMH, the latest pieces pay tribute to the legendary French designer Jean Schlumberger, who created some of Tiffany’s most iconic motifs during the 1950s and ’60s.
A standout piece from the collection is a breathtaking necklace designed to mimic the crest of an ocean wave. It’s adorned with diamonds and rare cuprian elbaite tourmalines in icy blue and sea green hues, sourced from Mozambique. These stones reflect the vivid colors of the sea and add an ethereal quality to the piece.
Another highlight is a ring featuring a rare Paraíba cuprian elbaite tourmaline. These electric blue gems were originally discovered in Brazil’s Paraíba state, known for their unique color caused by copper and manganese. The Brazilian mine operated for only three years, making its stones highly prized and extremely rare.
“When a gem comes from Paraíba, its value skyrockets,” said Victoria Reynolds, Tiffany’s chief gemologist, during a presentation at The Landmark. “It’s comparable to a Cashmere or Ceylon sapphire in rarity and prestige.”
Although Mozambique has since become a secondary source for these striking stones, their discovery a decade later has helped keep the tourmaline’s legacy alive.
Tiffany’s Sea of Wonder not only honors the mystery and beauty of the ocean, but also showcases the house’s commitment to exceptional craftsmanship and rare, meaningful gemstones.
