Authorities in Petaling Jaya are still pursuing leads to apprehend the culprits responsible for the theft of a safe containing RM800,000 worth of jewellery from a social media influencer’s residence in Pokok Sena, Kepala Batas, Penang.
According to Acting Seberang Perai Utara police chief Zulkeflee Sulaiman, the investigation remains active, with the suspects yet to be identified despite the recovery of seven fingerprints from the scene.
“We are diligently pursuing the investigation; however, none of the fingerprints match any records in our criminal database,” Zulkeflee informed Bernama.
He emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and the case has not been closed.
Zulkeflee also noted that the police have been maintaining communication with the influencer, ensuring she remains informed of any developments in the case.
Earlier, Siti Nur Khalieda Yusra, a 27-year-old influencer known as Kieda Crepe, expressed her dismay over the lack of progress in the case. In a TikTok video, she disclosed that it had been 40 days since the jewellery theft occurred, yet no arrests have been made.
Siti, who is also an entrepreneur in the dessert industry, described the incident as traumatic for herself and her husband.
The theft reportedly occurred around 11pm on April 25 when the residence was unoccupied.
